Beer and Books Go Together Like Cats and Napping. Fitzgerald Disagrees.

cat with a beer

I don’t like beer. I find it to increase my bloat and render me burpy – an abhorrence to my esteemed lifestyle. However my editor – God help her – happens to love the stuff. And she’s partnering with our local library foundation to host a beer and book pairing for the local plebeians. Apologies…for the local brethren.

One redeeming quality of this event is that it supports The Chicago Public Library Foundation and educational programming at the Chicago Public Library. A worthy cause indeed.

beer tasting

The Chicago Public Library Foundation Junior Board is partnering with the beer wenches at Revolution Brewing and our thirsty editor, Rachel Yeomans, here at Lit with a Twist.

During a live beer tasting on June 23rd, Rachel will take you through what she calls “a literary adventure” of six books and pair them with six brews courtesy of Revolution Brewing. It sounds like a mess to me, but you may find it enjoyable.

Cost is $40 per person, which includes food, the tasting flight of six beers, and one Chicago Public Library t-shirt (perfect for a blanket or chew-toy). Reserve your space here.

And if you want to see just how much our editor loves her mixture of barley, hops and water, watch below. I, however, have better things to do. Like napping.
