About

Lit with a Twist pairs the written word with a selected libation. Be it a book with a heavy pour of wine, a newspaper topped off with whiskey or a comic book with an ice cold finish of beer. We say cheers to it all!

We enjoy fun pairings, drunken book clubs, and our co-editor, Fitzgerald is totally judging you right now (spoiler – he’s a cat).

Content and pairings are brought to you by Lit with a Twist host and creator, Rachel Yeomans. Video animation and editing is brought to you by Eric Mehl of Hypothetical. Snark is brought to you by Fitzgerald.

Meet your host

Rachel

Rachel Yeomans dreams of two things: big libraries and wine cellars. You will find her frequently plotting her return trips to Paris and Savannah with her husband and quirky feline companions, Ella and Fitzgerald.

Her obsession with reading started when she was young, growing up with the Berenstain Bears series, Shel Silverstein poems and episodes of Reading Rainbow. (The Dark is Rising series was what got her hooked – like, really hooked.) It was a bottle of Seghesio Sonoma Zinfandel that sparked her interest in wine. Through wine courses, tastings and working part time at a local wine shop, Rachel’s palette has expanded to include dark beer, smoky scotches  and crisp, cool vodkas. Her cocktail of choice: The Manhattan (made with rye vs. bourbon – just a preference).

Rachel also brings forward 12+ years of digital marketing and strategy expertise from the likes of McGraw-Hill Publishing, Condé Nast, Sears Holdings Corp and working with clients such as Netflix, Anheuser-Bush, Quaker, TGI Fridays and Capital One. She was a winner of the Bronze Cannes Lions Award 2016 for the Netflix New Year Countdown campaign. She is also known for her 6-year publication run of Forbes- and Crain’s- recommended blog, The Working Wardrobe, and fashion news podcast, Speaking of Fashion.

She is also “slightly” obsessed with anything BBC.
